I liked using Diigo as a website annotating software and for collecting articles. Being able to annotate the articles are very helpful for me because it helps me collect my thoughts and figure out where else I want to go with the information. This will be useful in the classroom because students can collect data for group research projects and useful in my personal development because I can also collect articles that I want to use. I like using Twitter for this because I can add to the education web, but Twitter doesn't allow for the annotation of articles and having a personal area to look at everything.
PowerPoint can be used to support student learning at each level of Bloom's Taxonomy. At the remembering level, students are presented information they need to learn. At the understanding level, the information is just presented, and at the applying level, students can given examples of ways to apply it. For analyzing, evaluating, and creating, the powerpoint can give assignments for students to do to apply the information they previously learned. PowerPoint is just a good general presentation tool for teachers to utilize.
Technology and teacher professional development are well-linked, for teachers need to learn about technologies and use technology to do so. Edutopia is a website that I follow on Twitter that posts a lot of general education articles that usually focus on improving teacher-student relationships. I like this site specifically because it includes practical ideas for teachers to integrate new pedagogies and technologies instead of just a general review of new technology. Although it may be the teacher responsible for about new technology, there is only so much they can do without the actual technology there to use.
